Student Discount

Bubblehost offers a 20% student discount to help students build their first websites, portfolios, projects and online businesses. This policy explains which services the discount applies to, who is eligible, how to apply, and the conditions that apply. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. Discount Overview

Eligible students receive 20% off the listed price of eligible services. Once your student status has been verified, the discount is applied to your account and will be taken off future invoices for eligible services for as long as you remain eligible.

2. Eligible Services

The student discount applies to the following services:

The discount does not apply to any other plans, domain extensions, add-ons, premium domains, setup fees or third-party licences. If you upgrade from an eligible plan to a plan that is not listed above, the discount will no longer apply to that service.

3. Eligibility

To be eligible for the student discount, you must:

• Be currently enrolled as a student at an accredited educational institution, such as a university, TAFE, college, high school or registered training organisation
• Provide valid proof of your current student status, as described in Section 4
• Hold a Bubblehost account in your own name
• Use the discounted services for your own personal, study or small business projects

Both full-time and part-time students are eligible. The discount is available to students in Australia and overseas.

4. Accepted Proof of Enrolment

We accept any of the following, as long as it shows your name, the name of your educational institution, and that your enrolment is current:

• A current student ID card showing an expiry date or year of study
• A current enrolment certificate or confirmation of enrolment
• An official letter or email from your institution
• A recent transcript or statement of results for the current study period
• An email sent from your official student email address, in addition to one of the above

You may cover or remove any information we do not need, such as your student number, photo or date of birth. We will not accept documents that appear altered, expired or incomplete.

5. How to Apply

Applying for the student discount is simple:

1. Create a Bubblehost account, if you don’t already have one.
2. Email our support team at support@bubblehost.com.au from the email address on your account, with the subject line “Student Discount”.
3. Attach your proof of enrolment.
4. We will review your application, usually within 1 to 2 business days.
5. Once verified, we will apply the 20% discount to your account for future purchases on eligible services, and let you know by email.

If we are unable to verify your student status, we will let you know and explain what else we need.

6. Duration and Re-verification

Your student discount stays active for as long as you remain a student. To keep it active, you will need to re-verify your student status every 12 months by sending updated proof of enrolment. We will email you a reminder before your verification expires.

If you finish your studies, or you do not re-verify in time, the discount will be removed from your account. Your services will continue at the standard price from your next invoice, and you will not lose any of your websites, data or domains.

7. Conditions and Exceptions

Please note the following conditions:

• The student discount is only available for the eligible services listed in Section 2.
• It cannot be combined with any other discount, promotion, coupon or special offer. If more than one offer could apply, you will receive the one that gives you the better price.
• The discount cannot be applied retroactively to purchases or invoices made before your student status was verified.
• The discount is personal to you and cannot be transferred, sold or shared with anyone else.
• One student discount is allowed per student, and only one Bubblehost account per student can receive it.
• The discount applies to the price of the service only, and does not change any other terms, such as our 30-day money-back guarantee, which still applies as normal.
• All other terms in our Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy and Domain Registration Agreement continue to apply.

8. Students Under 18

High school students and other students under 18 are welcome to apply. As set out in our Terms of Service, students under 18 need permission from a parent or guardian to use our services. When applying, please include a short note from your parent or guardian confirming their permission and that they have read our Terms of Service. We may contact them to confirm.

9. Misuse of the Discount

We may remove the student discount, and charge the full price for any discounted period, if we find that:

• False, altered or misleading proof of enrolment was provided
• The discounted services are being used by someone other than the verified student
• The discount is being used to resell hosting or domains at a profit to others
• More than one account is being used to claim multiple student discounts

Serious or repeated misuse may also lead to suspension or termination of your account under our Terms of Service.

10. Privacy of Your Documents

We only use your proof of enrolment to verify your eligibility for the student discount. Once your status is verified, we record that it has been verified and the date it expires, and we delete the documents you sent within a reasonable time. We handle all personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may change, suspend or end the student discount program at any time, including changing the discount amount or the list of eligible services. If a change affects your existing discount, we will let you know by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. Updates will also be posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date will be changed.
